Jenna Bush Marries

Jenna Bush and Henry Hager said "I do" Saturday at President Bush's ranch in Crawford where the corn is thigh-high, roads are named Cattle Drive and the Texas flag is painted on the rooftops of barns. The president and the bride picked "You Are So Beautiful" for their father-daughter dance. Jenna's outdoor wedding at the ranch reflected her family's penchant for privacy and her preference for the casual over grandiose. The media was not invited, but Jenna's wedding will be closely scrutinized -- down to the matte beading and embroidery on her white Oscar de la Renta gown.

Jenna's twin sister, Barbara, was maid of honor and 14 other women were in her "house party." Barbara Bush wore a long, moonstone blue dress with a low-cut back. The women in the "house party" were clad in seven different styles of knee-length dresses in seven different colors that match the palette of Texas wildflowers -- blues, greens, lavenders and pinky reds.

The best man was the groom's brother, John "Jack" Hager. Also part of the "house party" were 14 ushers, who walked with the 14 women down the aisle to their seats, but did not participate in the ceremony. More than 200 family and friends converged here for the nuptials on the 1,600-acre ranch where a tent was erected for the post-ceremony dinner and dancing. The ceremony began about a half hour or so before sunset. The couple stood at a cross, made of beige colored Texas limestone, that was erected near the ranch's man-made lake. After the wedding, the couple is rumored to be honeymooning in Europe, although the White House would not comment.

Wesley Snipes Gets 3 Years in Prison!

Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison on tax charges, a victory for prosecutors who sought to make an example of the action star by aggressively pursuing the maximum penalty. Snipes' lawyers had spent much of the day in court offering dozens of letters from family members, friends -- even fellow actors Woody Harrelson and Denzel Washington -- attesting to the good character of the "Blade" star and asking for leniency. They argued he should get only probation because his three convictions were all misdemeanors and the actor had no previous criminal record. But U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said Snipes exhibited a "history of contempt over a period of time" for U.S. tax laws, and granted prosecutors the three year sentence they requested -- one year for each of Snipes' convictions of willfully failing to file a tax return. Snipes apologized while reading from a written statement for his "costly mistakes," but never mentioned the word taxes. "I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance," He called himself "well-intentioned, but miseducated." Snipes was the highest-profile criminal tax target in years, and prosecutors called for a heavy sentence to deter others from trying to obstruct the IRS. The government alleged Snipes made at least $13.8 million for the years in question and owed $2.7 million in back taxes.

Who's Out On Dancing?

Magician Penn Jillette and tennis champion Monica Seles were sent home during the first double elimination in "Dancing With the Stars" history, Tuesday night. His elimination took bubbly blonde partner, Aussie Kym Johnson, out of the competition. Johnson has done well with her partners in past seasons. She made it to runner-up status with former *NSync boy bander Joey Fatone in Season 4, and she lasted mid way through the competition last season with billionaire Mark Cuban. Monica Seles' elimination meant her partner, Jonathan Roberts, was also sent packing. Roberts also has had success on the show -- in Season 4 with Heather Mills, and last season with Marie Osmond. Adam Carolla, however, who dances with Julianne Hough, may have gotten some of the lowest scores, but was saved to dance again.

Paul McCartney was ordered Monday to pay Heather Mills $48.6 million to settle their divorce. A document released by the Family Court said the judge awarded Mills a lump sum of $33 million plus the assets she currently holds worth $15.6 million. "I'm so, so happy with this," Mills told reporters following the closed hearing. The court also ruled that the couple's 4-year-old daughter Beatrice should receive a "periodical payments order" of $70,000 per annum. On top of that, McCartney will pay for the child's nanny and school fees. "I'm so glad it's over," Mills said at her impromptu news conference. "It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter's future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with -- because you know it has been my life for 20 years," she said. McCartney left the court without making any statement. While pleased with the financial settlement, Mills intends to appeal to prevent publication of the details of the settlement for the couple's daughter.
