Just what society needs, an easier way to get and eat pizza. Pizza vending machines. They’re rolling some out in Rome of all places. You type in the type of pizza you want, pick the toppings, etc, and then it bakes it in three minutes. Not exactly what you’d expect in Italy. The pizza has a super thin crust that doesn’t look baked all the way and the toppings look sparse. It looks more like cheese bread minus half the bread. I watched a video of some of the people in Rome reacting. They didn’t seem all that impressed. It seemed more like they they were hungry and it was available and not terrible.
We’ve actually had pizza vending machines in the US for at least a few years. I found a news clip from Orlando with one. They appear to be premade and just waiting to be baked. You can watch the dough being made in the Rome one.
