It’s Mr. Trash Wheel!
Mr. Trash Wheel is what’s known as a garbage interceptor. It looks a little bit like a steamboat that floats around the Baltimore harbor catching floating trash. It has a water wheel, the kind of wheels on old timey mills next to streams, and a conveyor belt inside the mouth. It catches garbage in a net. Then the wheels power the belt to scoop up the trash.
Sounds kind of silly, but Mr. Trash Wheel is getting more popular than some celebrities. It has thousands of Twitter followers, a beer named after it, T-shirts, and a fan club. All the things I would like.
Besides Mr. Trash Wheel, Baltimore also has Captain Trash Wheel, Professor Trash Wheel, and Gwynnda The Good Wheel Of The West all helping out.
