Alexa wants to watch you sleep. (Amazon gets the ok to monitor you while you’re in bed)

I think we’re all used to tracking cookies on the internet and ads for things we’ve searched for popping up on Facebook. But is anyone really comfortable at all with companies monitoring our sleep? I’m not. The thought of them even considering it has never crossed my mind because……. Well, creepy.

Apparently not too creepy for the FCC. They’ve granted Amazon permission to monitor your sleeping habits. Amazon has plans of selling a device that would sit in your house and use radar to monitor your sleep. Not only that, with radar, it could track, literally, your every movement.

That said, every smart watch, including my Garmin, kind of does the same thing. In fact, I like the sleep tracker on it. But, it’s on my terms and as far as I know, the company doesn’t use it. Also, the watches can’t cast a radar signal that creates a picture of everything in your house and everyone’s movements.

From what I could tell, Amazon doesn’t have the radar thing in any of the existing products like Alexa devices. But, the Google Pixel 4 phones do. They got permission about 3 years ago.
