US Life Expectancy Goes Down – Ladies, you’ll still outlive the men though.

By Austin Michael Aug 3, 2021 | 8:01 PM

Because of Covid, life expectancy in the US dropped in 2020. The CDC says that the average went from 78.8 years in 2019 to 77.3 years in 2020; down by a year and a half. We haven’t see this big a drop since 1943 when it went down by almost 3 years. And that was because of a World War. There were other factors that brought the average down in 2020 like drug overdoses, homicides, diabetes, and liver disease. But it was mostly Covid.

If it’s any consolation ladies, life expectancy dropped more for men than it did women. Guy went down 1.8 years where women dropped 1.2 years. And women will still live, on average, 5.7 years longer than men.
