With school back in session, I thought it’d be fun to see if I could find recipes for actual lunches that are served in school cafeterias. Taste Of Home has a page set up where it talks about being nostalgic about school lunches and then has a bunch of recipes. But I have no idea what school served these up. Things like Pepperoni Pizza Baked Potatos, Tangy Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and Crispy Sage Chicken Tenders. When I was growing up, it was watery spaghetti in flavorless tomato sauce, soft crust pizza with weird sausage and a splash of cheese, or corn dogs. And everything came with a side of peas. Nothing quite so fancy as sage anything.
Anyways, these recipes all actually look tasty. So, I thought I’d share them. Maybe you’ll even have time to fix ‘em up and fill up a lunch box.
