If you have a lot of time on your hands and a lot of money in the bank, you might be interested in a 274 night cruise around the world.
Royal Caribbean is going to send off the ship Serenade Of The Seas from Miami on December 10th, 2023 and no one’s going home until September 10th of 2024. If you’re on that ship, you’ll get to see all 7 continents while stopping t more than 150 different destinations in 65 countries.
What could go wrong?
It’s going to cost $60,999 per person for the basic interior room. That’s before what you spend money at the destinations and doesn’t include taxes and fees. Also, I think that’s the standard ticket cost. Reading about this on Royal Caribbean’s web site, they mention that if you upgrade to “platinum” status, you’ll get a deluxe beverage package, Voom Wi-fi, and laundry service. I’m reading this as if you JUST pay $61k, then you’ll have to pay for laundry on a 10 month cruise or just keep re-wearing everything after soaking it in the sink. Do cruises have laundry mats?
If you want an Open View Stateroom, it’s $65k. A Balcony Stateroom is $79k. A Junior Suite is $112k.
It doesn’t say how much “Platinum” is, but I’d bet it’s in the thousands. I can’t imagine being on a ship right now, much less inside the same motel room sized cabin, day after day, for nearly a year. But sure, an extra $10k to get wi-fi and a deluxe beverage package totally makes it worth it with the 10 bars on board.
