There’s been a lot lately of talk about a shortage of toys this Christmas. A couple months ago I mentioned turkeys might be in short supply for Thanksgiving. That’s still saying that turkeys will be smaller and more expensive. And now booze is on the list.
There’s already been reports of liquor shortages in multiple states. Pennsylvania has enacted a two bottle purchase limit.
And you thought mask mandates were bad.
It’s the same thing that’s affecting the amount of everything else: increased demand, shortage of truck drivers, shortage of glass for bottles, and higher shipping costs. There’s even a shortage of paper that’s used to make labels for wine bottles.
This won’t affect every brand, but you might want to be prepared to have alternate choices of wine and liquor.
