A couple of scientists have programmed an artificial intelligence to write a symphony that sounds just like Beethoven.
It wasn’t easy. It took two years of working up algorithms and inputting every piece of music the B-Man had written. And then they had professional musicians perform in at Bonn, Germany where Beethoven was born.
One of the musicians says it feels like the “spirit” of Beethoven is missing. A composer that helped create the AI says he thinks it can sense the human emotions that go into a Beethoven piece. I wonder how Schroeder feels about it.
Have a listen.
