Lincoln Police say a 66 year old woman shopping at the 70th and Pioneers Hy-Vee Friday morning had credit cards stolen after she became distracted.
“She became distracted by an unknown female who kneeled in front of her while she was on the phone. The victim’s purse, which contained multiple credit cards, was near her at the time. Within the next half hour, the victim was notified that her credit card was used by two females to purchase $5,473.86 worth of gift cards at Walmart at 8480 Andermatt Drive,” Sergeant Chris Vigil says.
He says the victim believed it was likely someone stole the credit card from her purse while she was distracted. Officers examined digital evidence and spoke with employees at both stores.
