A new dad was so caught up playing his video games that he didn’t notice that the baby his wife handed to him to hold was a doll.
The mom posted a video this prank on Instagram. The young father is sitting close to the tv, playing his game when she walks up and asks if he can hold the baby real quick. His eye never leave the screen as she hands the fake baby to him. He cuddles it under his arm and resumes playing the game. The video cuts to 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 20 minutes later when he apparently still hasn’t noticed it’s not a real kid. She asks if the baby is doing okay and he finally looks down and starts laughing.
I’ve seen many a preoccupied dad, including my own, being entrusted to watch over kids and not paying as much attention as they probably should: doing lawn work, in the garage, watching football games, etc. But never one not noticing to this extent. It sort of makes me feel like this video was set up, an act. I can’t imagine not realizing that the “baby” in your arms hasn’t made a sound or movement for 20 minutes. Have a watch. What do you think?
