City taking historic bridge apart just so Bezos’s boat can sail through. See the $1/2 billion boat and bridge in blog.

A giant yacht that is being made for Jeff Bezos is so big, that on order for it to get to get from the ship yard to the ocean, a bridge has to be taken apart. It’s one of those bridges where the middle can be raised for ships. This one can go 130 feet in the air. The masts on Jeff’s new ship are taller. Jeff also wanted to be able to land a helicopter on his new yacht, but the sails are so big, that’s it’s too dangerous. So, a smaller, second yacht with a helicopter pad on it will travel with his super yacht wherever it goes.

I took a boat tour in in Rhode Island a few months ago. One of the yachts there was the 2nd or 3rd biggest in the world. It costs thousands just to keep it docked each day. They said it cost close to a million to fuel it up. It had to have a staff of at least 20 people on board all the time. The buying price of Jeff’s super yacht, alone, is half a billion dollars. Not that any of that even makes a dent in Jeff’s bank account. Last I checked, he is worth $177.1 billion.

Also, just an FYI- Amazon just raised the price of Prime by 17% to $139 a year. But maybe Jeff will let you have a ride on his boat with your subscription.
