Not to gross you out, but a scientist left a tick in a container in his lab, without any food …….. for 8 years……… and it’s still alive. Just like a vampire, it can seemingly hunger for your blood yet somehow manage to survive forever without it. The fact that a tick can live anywhere near that long, even when fed, unnerves me. This particular tick, from Africa, has been alive since the 70s. The scientist had been letting it feed on rabbits until 1984. Then, for whatever reason, said something like, “No soup for you” and took the rabbits away. The females lived for 8 years at which point he decided to let them feed again. They’re still alive today.
