Stroke of luck? Hand of God? Serendipity? Which would you use to describe a situation where a woman was buying a lottery ticket from a vending machine but is accidentally bumped by someone else making her hit a number for a scratch card she didn’t want, buuuuuuut……….. then wins $10 million with that ticket? This happened to LaQuendra Edwards in California last November. She said some guy bumped into her, didn’t say sorry, and walked off. She thought he was rude. Or was he an angel in disguise?
Either way, she played the ticket she didn’t want, saw that it was a ten million dollar winner, and, as she put it, “I didn’t really believe it at first, but I got on the 405 Freeway and kept looking down at (the ticket) and I almost crashed my car.”
The part I like best about this story is that she says she’s going to use the money to buy a house and start a nonprofit organization. Maybe she can hire a private detective to find the guy who bumped her and give him a few bucks for bumping into her.
