I’ve talked about how good avocados are one of the best tasting things that are also good for you before. Now, a study that covered thousands of people over the last 30 years is showing that if you eat two a week, it might lower your chance at getting heart disease by 16-22%. What a great excuse to make more tacos! Also avocados aren’t that expensive. I bought one for 40 cents last week. You can substitute them for butter or chees and still get that creamy texture and fatty flavor your body likes. But it’s good fats coupled with the dietary fiber avocados have. The fiber works wonders for heart health including fighting cholesterol. The main takeaway though is that participants who ate at least two servings of avocado each week had a 16% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 21% lower risk of coronary heart disease, compared to those who never or rarely ate avocados.
Here are a bunch of yummy looking avocados recipes. Some not as healthy as others. The Bacon Egg Avocado one will probably counteract the healthiness of the avocado itself. Personally, I think the Tomato Basil Avocado Egg looks like a wonderful flavor mix. The Avocado Lime Salmon looks wonderful too.
