A family in California had bears living under their house for months and didn’t know it. They said that they kept hearing snoring sounds throughout the winter, but seemed to just blow it off.
Who ignores “snoring like” noises that come out of nowhere in their house? Who ignores for an entire winter? How do you not want to find out what that is? I mean, squirrel sounds…….. those you can ignore. The little prattling sound on the roof as they chase each other and run to another tree. You know what that is. But how do you ignore, “rumbling, snoring like” sounds without thinking that maybe Randy Quaid is squatting in the pantry?
Anyway, it turned out to be a momma and four cubs. Professionals were brought in to coax them out from under the house and find somewhere else to live. And this isn’t unusual. 100 to 150 bears try to hibernate underneath homes in the Tahoe area where this family lives.
