How does whisky made with actual crab sound? Personally, I like a smooth bourbon or a vanilla whiskey, but I’d be willing to try the crab thing. Tamworth Distilling in New Hampshire is helping nature and creating a really expensive drink at the same time. There’s an invasive species of crab, green crabs, that are pushing out the other kinds. Tamworth Distilling has been using them, along with tradition crab cooking spices to create Crab Tapper. It’s a four year old bourbon that’s distilled with stock made from the crabs. It takes about 1,000 pounds of the critters to make 500 bottles that are 200 milliliters each. And they charge $65 for the small bottles. Is it any good? People say it tastes like a briny Fireball. It probably won’t mix well with Coca- Cola.
Whiskey made out of crabs. Literally made from crustaceans from the sea.
