Yes! Yes! Yes! Florida has enacted a new law that I love. It has nothing to do with voting or babies. It has everything to do with annoying drivers who who you can hear from 4 blocks away. I’m talking about Studly McLook At Me, my car stereo goes past 11 and I can’t see straight because the bass is vibrating my eyeballs.
Starting July 1st, in Florida, police will be able to ticket people that are playing music too loud in the cars. If they can hear it from more than 25 feet away, it’s too loud. The fines can be up to $114. If there is one thing I would rejoice about happening in the Nebraska State legislature, it would be a law like this.
I honestly don’t understand the desire to be driving around town with songs playing at 100+ decibels. I have been in a car like that. You thought I was joking about vibrating eyeballs. I wasn’t. It’s uncomfortable to the rest of your body. I’m pretty sure vital organs get moved around. And don’t get me started on the fact that 80% of the people with systems like that in their car, don’t have the kind of car to handle it. Oh there’s nothing cooler than rollin’ down the avenue with super bass bouncing your loose trunk lid, making it sound like sheet metal getting hit with a hammer.
Speaking of loose trunk lids watch the first car on this vid.
