If we want cheaper gas and groceries, perhaps we should slow down the baby making. According to the United Nations, the world’s population is expected to hit 8 billion on November 15th. Despite that huge number, they say that the population is increasing at its slowest pace since 1950. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if we were back to 1950 numbers; 2.5 billion. It was 6 billion in 1960. In 1980, we were up to 4.5 billion. Then we started jumping almost a billion every decade since. If we were back to 3 billion, I bet gas would be 99 cents a gallon. Maybe Thanos was on to something. Or maybe we could have fewer seasons of the Bachelor. It seems like all they do on that show anymore is try to make babies.
BTW, China has the largest population with 1.4 billion, but they say India will pass them up in 2023.
