For the third time in the Mega Millions game history, the jackpot is a $1 billion-plus. The estimated jackpot at Friday’s drawing is $1.025 billion. The cash option is $602.5 million.
This is the third highest jackpot in the game’s history.
There was one winner in the July 22nd drawing for $10,000. That ticket was sold at a Hy-Vee Gas in Papillion. That ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number.
The game has been building cash amounts since April 19th without a winner.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot on record occurred in October 2018 when one winner in South Carolina won a $1.537 billion jackpot.
Because of the high jackpot, Nebraska Lottery encourages players to play responsibly and within their means. The odds of winning are 1 in 302 million, no matter how many tickets are purchased or how many people play.
