A woman is living in an 80 square foot apartment in New York City for $650 a month. I don’t know what makes my brain hurt more here; that it’s legal to rent 80 square feet as an apartment or that they’re charging $650 a month for it. The studio I’m talking to you from is 120 square feet. My deck at home is around 300 square feet.
There’s no bathroom. No oven. When you open the front door, it covers more than half of the wall.
The gal living there says it’s nice because it’s in midtown. Is it? Or is one of the rich people there playing a joke to see who’d be gullible enough to live in something that wouldn’t hold their shoe collection? You know, that stuff rich people do for fun, like Squid Games.
Anyway, she put together a tour video of the place which has gotten nearly 2 million views. In it, she says that any time she wants to get something out, she has to move something else. The bed is in a….. we’ll call it a loft. It’s so close to the ceiling that I would feel like I was being buried alive. I honestly don’t know how it doesn’t violate a hundred different safety and fire laws.
