A man from California is suing Texas Pete hot sauce because it’s made in North Carolina. He’s upset, because the name “Texas Pete” along with the logo of a cowboy with a lasso made him think it was made in Texas. He feels it was misleading and he needs to be compensated for that. Even though it says on the back of the bottles that it’s made in North Carolina.
Not to add to the location confusion, the type of hot sauce they make is Louisiana Style Hot Sauce.
The man doing the suing is trying to fluff his case by saying that Texas Pete has been cheating and hurting hot sauce makers that are actually from Texas.
I’ve never tried their hot sauce, but I looooove their cocktail sauce. I ran across it accidentally years ago. I wanted more, but the store quit selling it. Then it showed up at Hy-Vee, briefly. I bought 2 bottles and then they quit selling it. So Jenny found it online and bought me three bottles from some obscure place. They’ve since made it available on the Texas Pete website. My point being, I don’t care where it was made. It’s delicious. If they made their seafood cocktail sauce inside a meat packing plant in western Nebraska, I would still love eating it.
