Sometimes, something as small as being a couple minutes late or going the wrong direction can completely change lives. For instance, a Brenden Bert, from Omaha, was visiting Red Oak, Iowa and accidentally turned down the wrong street late at night. That’s when he saw a house catching fire and nobody else doing anything about it. He stopped and started pounding on windows to see if anyone was inside. There were 3 children and their 22 year old brother inside, sleeping. No smoke alarms were going off. Brenden’s actions woke them up and saved their lives. There’s a doorbell cam with video footage. In it you can see the large flames and see them rushing out the front door getting licked by some of those flames. Their mother, who was dealing with another family emergency in Montana at the time, now considers Brenden as part of the family.
