Snow continues to diminish across the region however blowing and drifting will continue today. Visibilities in open areas may remain very poor and travel may be difficult. Strong northwest winds will continue to gust to near 35 to 45 mph at times.
Combined with very cold arctic temperatures, dangerously cold wind chills of 35 to 45 below zero will persist. Frostbite can occur on any exposed skin within ten minutes.
A Winter Storm Warning, a Winter Weather Advisory, and a Wind Chill Warning are in effect for the area.
Wind chill values will remain around 20 to 35 below through Friday night. Gusty winds are expected to subside Friday night. A Wind Chill Warning will be in effect into Saturday morning. There is a small chance of snow late Sunday night into Monday.
