The Lancaster County area has been upgraded from a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning. Precipitation could move into the Lincoln area as early at 6 AM. The National Weather Service’s Paul Fajman tells KLIN News the precipitation could be a mix of rain, freezing rain, or sleet, which may continue into the early afternoon.

“Once we get to the afternoon,” says Fajman, “we will see that transition over to snow, possibly still some freezing drizzle there in the afternoon, and then we are expecting things to come to an end for the Lincoln area in the early morning hours of Thursday between about midnight and 3 AM.”

Fajman says to expect about two to six inches of snow in the afternoon with wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. An area of uncertainty exists along the I-80, but drivers using the highway should be prepared for slick roads, snow, and sleet.
