Surgeon General says 13 is too young for social media.

By Austin Michael Jan 31, 2023 | 7:30 PM

Your kids aren’t going to be fans of the Surgeon General anymore. He’s saying that 13 is too young to be on social media.

Now they’re going to rip up the posters of him they got out of Tiger Beat.

In a recent interview, he said, “”It’s a time where it’s really important for us to be thoughtful about what’s going into how they think about their own self-worth and their relationships and the skewed and often distorted environment of social media often does a disservice to many of those children.”

Speaking of, did you know that in the fine print, META actually states the users are required to be at least 13 to use Facebook? 13 is the magic number. Google’s policy is to keep anyone under 13 from creating an account.

If I’m being honest, I kind of agree with making it more like 16. 13 year olds should be at malls, riding bikes on dirt roads, and mowing lawns for spending money. And watch out for the rose bushes!
