Capital Humane Society Seeks Donations as Supplies Run Low

By Michael Wheeler Feb 2, 2023 | 3:51 PM

Lincoln’s Capital Humane Society provides residents’ pets with access to veterinary care, food, and other supplies. Much of these services, however, depend on a full cupboard. According to Matt Madchero, Executive Director of the Society, the pantry is running low of dry cat and dog food and cat litter.

The Capital Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization  that relies heavily on donations. As a result, they are calling upon residents of Lincoln to help restock their dwindling necessities.

“If you’ve got anything sitting around the house that maybe your pet doesn’t want to eat or doesn’t like, or if you want to swing by a pet store and pick some food up and donate it, we’d be happy to take that off your hands and appreciate the support,” said Madchero in a chat with KLIN News. “Even other things: collars, leashes, toys; if it’s in good shape, we’ll be happy to take it and put it in the pantry and get it to somebody who can use it so their pet can enjoy it.”

Donations can be made at either the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center at 6500 S 70th St or at the Admissions and Assessment Center at 2320 Park Blvd.
