Lisa Crick didn’t start doing it for the money. She says she just hates to see anything go to waste. She tries to use every piece of a couch, right down to the stuffing in the pillows. She gives that away to people for pet beds.
She got started by looking up info and instructions on Pintrest and then Covid hit, giving her time to get on it. Now it’s a business, A lot of times people will send her their old couches for free, just to get rid of them. Then she turns them into hand bags that run as much as $250 each. She makes up to 10 leather bags a week which sell quickly. And recently, she started making aprons. Not out of couches. She uses material from hot air balloons.
