It’s fashion week at NASA! They’ve unveiled brand new space suits that astronauts will be wearing on the next trip to the moon. The suit they showed off is dark blue and grey with accents of orange. But they say that’s a cover for the suit. When they’re on the moon it’ll be all white for thermal reasons. It looks slightly less bulky than old suits and they say it has better mobility. The helmet looks more like what you see in Sci Fi movies. There’s an HD camera that allows everyone to see what the astronaut is seeing and transmit it. There are also 4 lights on the sides of the helmet that remind me of fog lights on a jeep. Also, they say the suit is more female friendly, but didn’t elaborate.
My first impression was that it looks like everything I’d bundle in for snow skiing trip. I mean, except the helmet. Although, I would love to wear that helmet while heading down the side of a mountain. I’d have the light blaring out in front of me with the camera going to catch people’s confused and possibly scared expressions as I go zooming by.
