Lincoln Police arrested a man who they say walked into a home late Monday and tried to steal some cigars and granola bars. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says it happened just after 10:00 last night near 33rd and Franklin.
“The victim was sitting in his living room when he heard the door open, then the fridge. The victim initially thought it was a family member but got up to investigate when he heard no additional sounds.”
Vollmer says there was a man in the kitchen attempting to hide. Police say the victim confronted the man and then followed him outside and took back the eight granola bars and the cigars that were stolen.
Officers found 42-year-old Brent Abbink in the area and arrested him for burglary.
