The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners has appointed Darci Poland as the Director of the Lancaster County Department of Community Corrections. Poland will begin her new role on April 3, 2023.
“I once heard someone say, ‘opportunities don’t happen, you create them,’”, Poland said. “I believe this statement embodies how I feel about this appointment and the excitement I have about the prospects for individuals choosing to participate in any of the Community Corrections programs. I look forward to seeing the continued success, not only of our participants, but also of the staff within Lancaster County Community Corrections.”
Over the course of her 23-year career in public service, Poland has served as Chief Deputy Probation Officer for the State of Nebraska, Protection and Safety Supervisor for the Office of Juvenile Services in the Eastern Service Area and an Adjunct Instructor for Oklahoma State University.
