Announced today, State Senator Suzanne Geist of Lincoln will be resigning from the Legislature to go “all in” on her bid for the Lincoln Mayor race. Her resignation will be effective at the end of the day Thursday .
Governor Jim Pillen will announce the appointment of a new senator to represent District 25 at a news conference, Thursday, April 6. The Governor and appointee will make brief remarks.

This announcement comes the day after Geist advanced in the mayoral primary, defeating the other Republican candidate Stan Parker. The May 2nd Mayors race will now be between Geist and incumbent Leirion Gaylor Baird.
