The Career Academy (TCA), a partnership between LPS and Southeast Community College, will be hosting the “1st Job Lincoln” Job Fair, Thursday April 6th at their location 8800 O Street.
1st Job Lincoln is a job and internship fair to help TCA students find summer opportunities. Each year, TCA partners with the Lincoln business community to host this event. TCA Director, Josh Jones, told KLIN News, “As an educator, I feel like education needs to exist outside of the traditional classroom…for those students to be able to connect with the business community, to get jobs, to extend their learning into the business community, and for the business community to start developing talent…It’s important for the student, the business, and really Lincoln.”
This year is the 10th anniversary of the TCA job fair. Over 100 students and more than 60 companies representing various industries representing all of TCA’s career pathways plan to participate.
“We have 18 different career fields that our students are studying in and we will have different businesses from every one of those career fields represented…Welding, construction, we have education-based companies, ag-based companies… you name it! Our students are going to have the opportunity to really interview with Lincoln’s finest companies and hopefully secure summer jobs,” said Jones.
