There’s a drawer in my work desk that I toss unused fast food condiments and candy that people have given me that I don’t really want to eat. The idea has been that I’d remember they’re there and I’ll use them later.
I never remember they’re there. In fact, I pretty much forget the drawer exists. So, for the first time in years, I dug to the bottom of that drawer this morning hoping to find old treasures like in a time capsule. I found a Jolly Rancher that I remember came with an Easter basket…….. 5 or more years ago. I offered it to Bic, but he passed. He wouldn’t have been able to eta it anyway. The wrapper’s molecules had melded themselves into the outer layer of the candy. The hot sauce packets, age unknown, still seem okay. But the packet of mustard……… poor, poor packet of mustard…….. it dried up an solidified like a thousand year old mummy, just pulled from its crypt. I didn’t open it, but it’s taken on an unusual solid shape inside.
Do you think it’d be okay if we added water to it and stirred it up?
That’s just one of about 6 neglected compartments in my desk. One or two which I haven’t gone through in literally 10 years.
