Jenny texted me a picture of people on horses today at lunch. She always takes a walk around downtown during her lunches and it’s not 1876, so I was a bit confused as to what was happening. It turns out that the UNL Rodeo Club was having an afternoon horse ride led by Coach Cook and Governor Pillan. They both looking like modern day cow pokes in jeans, boots, and cowboy hats. Jenny caught them as they were doing a loop around the capitol.
I’m guessing that this is to promote the the Nebraska Cornhusker College Rodeo that’s happening this weekend at the Lancaster Event Center.
You should see the grin on Pillan’s face. He looks like he’s having the time of his life. I bet he’d ride a horse to work every day if they let him. Coach Cook looks like he’s having a good time too, but a little more cautious. It’s just kind of weird to see him decked out like he just walked out of Fort Western instead of the casual business look from on the court. Especially the giant, shiny belt buckle he had on today.
