Lincoln Police are looking for a several suspects after they say a man was robbed and assaulted and his girlfriend had her purse stolen. Captain Todd Kocian says the 20 year old woman called police to a home near 33rd and Holdrege around 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
“She had reported that her 22 year old boyfriend had been assaulted by a group of 6-7 males, who took his car key fob from his pants pocket,” Kocian says. “She said she stepped between the group of males and her boyfriend’s car to prevent the group from taking the car, at which time the group took her purse and fled the area on foot.”
The boyfriend was unable to be interviewed and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
