Do you use hair straightening or smoothing products? You might want get used to curls. The FDA has proposed a rule to ban these products because of cancer causing chemicals in them. A 2019 study linked hair dye and chemical straighteners to breast cancer in women in the US. Last year, another study showed that women using straighteners had higher instances of uterine cancer.
I know that Gwyneth Paltrow’s company Goop sells a lot of “natural” and earth friendly beauty products, so I searched her site for hair straighteners. FYI, a ban wouldn’t come right away. The FDA has to allow for comments from the public and some other procedurals moves.
