Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in two separate cases, and two separate pick-up trucks.

The first case occurred on New Year’s Eve around 4 p.m., in the area of 52nd and Ervin Street.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says a passerby reported hearing three gunshots and saw a black male in a silver Dodge Ram holding a gun out the passenger side of the truck. A different witness reported hearing five gunshots. One of the witnesses said the suspect may have been firing the gun into the air.

Investigative officers were able to locate one 9mm casing but could not find any damage to nearby buildings, vehicles, or anything else. The silver Dodge Ram was captured clearly by dash cam footage of a passing vehicle.

“Very dangerous. Especially inside the city,” said Keller. Images and video of the truck can be viewed below.

Police are also seeking information on a close-call hit and run case, that occurred on January 6th just before 8 p.m. at the Casey’s Gas Station on NW 6th and West Cornhusker.

Keller says a white male driving a black Dodge Ram with military plates went into the convenience store to buy beer. As he was leaving, he backed into a car pumping gas, causing severe damage to their vehicle including a broken passenger window.

“The scariest part, she was standing right there at the gas pump, had he hit the vehicle any harder, he might have hit her and then sent her into the gas pump, possibly pinning her,” said Keller.

The black Dodge Ram is likely a 2009-2018 model year, according to Keller. It had military plates, red tow hooks on the front, custom wheels, and fender flares. It was driven by a white male wearing hunting camo clothing.

Keller added further clues to look for, “There’s likely damage to the truck… definitely some rear damage to that vehicle.” Photo and video from the incident can be viewed below.
