Lincoln Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in two separate crimes that occurred at businesses in the SouthPointe Pavilions shopping mall.

The first case took place on November 4th, 2023. A man was observed to have shoplifted over $700 of merchandise from the Scheel’s Sporting goods Store near 27th and Pine Lake Road.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says the man is shown — via security footage — entering the store wearing a gray shirt, and leaving wearing a beige colored Jordan hoodie and shoplifting various other items.

The man left in a black Chevy Blazer with plates registered out of Eagle, Nebraska. Lincoln Police have been unsuccessful in contacting the owner of the Blazer, and do not believe the owner is the person responsible as their ages are inconsistent.

Photos and video footage of the suspect and the vehicle can be viewed below.

Police are also seeking information on a case involving the use of counterfeit money just two days earlier, November 2nd, at the Pine Lake Marcus Theaters location.

Keller says the suspect is shown purchasing a movie ticket with a fake $100 bill. The suspect didn’t stick around for the credits, left without watching the movie, and $92 real cash in hand.

The same suspect is suspected of the same crime at the downtown Marcus movie theater and the Southpointe Coldstone Creamery location. Each time he made a small purchase with a counterfeit $100 bill and took the real cash. He has a tattoo on his left hand.

Pictures of the suspect are available below.

If you have information on either of these cases, contact Lincoln Police at (402) 441-6000 to speak with an officer, or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600 or leave an online tip through their website: lincolncrimestoppers.com
