The city of Lincoln is offering free colon cancer screening kits to people 45 to 75 as part as Colon Cancer Screening Month.
I didn’t know this until recently, but Nebraska has a higher rate of Colon Cancer than most of the country. So, if you’re in your 40s, it’s time to start thinking about it. The kits aren’t anything like the procedure and all the fun that it comes with. And it can really set your mind at ease or save your life. I have several friends who found polyps, or found cancer and beat it, and a couple that didn’t find out in time. I did my procedure last year and was relieved to find out everything looks great.
So, again, the city of Lincoln is offering free testing kits that you can order at Lincoln.NE.gov/colon. Or, here are spots around Lincoln to pick up a kit at.
