It’s that time of year when another study reminds us that women are all going to outlive us guys. And, the new study shows that the gap is getting bigger.

The new study, published in the JAMA Internal Medicine Journal, points a finger at fairly new reasons like Covid-19 and drug overdoses. For example, data showed that for every 82 women that died from Covid, 131 men did.
Up to this point, it the typical causes were heart issues, unintentional injuries, homicide, and lung cancer.
Overall life expectancies in America, men and women, has dropped a year and a half since 2021.
I want my wife to outlive me. She’s better with money and paper work and is emotionally stronger than I am. She’ll handle the whole thing better. I’d probably curl up on the couch with a case of rum, bags of Cheetos, and play video games until someone came by and slapped me into coming out of a funk.
