Olive oil good against possible dementia.

Olive oil! I’ve talked your ear off about how great it is for years and I’m going to do it again because there’s a new study about how it can fight off dementia.

They found that if you consume more than half a teaspoon of olive oil a day, it’ll lower the risk of dementia related death by as much as 28%. If you replace a quarter teaspoon of mayo with olive oil, the risk drops by 14%. Replace 5 grams of margarine with olive oil and lower it by 8%.

I say simply replace everything with olive oil. That’s what I did 20 years ago. It helped cut my cholesterol down, which was ungodly high. Also, I like it better. I grew up watching my mom put margarine on pasta. The first time I used olive oil on pasta, it blew my mind. In fact, a famous chef from Italy once told me that he drinks a shot of virgin olive oil every morning to help start his day because of the health benefits.
