Have you seen Dolly Parton’s fluffy doughnuts? They’re at Krispy Kreme. They’ve teamed up and created four new doughnuts: The Dolly Dazzler, The Peachy Keen Cobbler, The Banana Puddin’ Pie, and The Chocolate Cream Pie. The names pretty much give away what’s in them except for the Dolly Dazzler. That’s a doughnut dipped in strawberry icing, with gold, pink and white glitter sprinkles and a signature chocolate Dolly butterfly piece.
Like everything else these days, they’re for a limited time. Does any food business come up with new stuff that ISN’T for a limited time anymore? I mean, is there a limited supply of Dolly related ingredients that we need to preserve for future generations? Does Dolly have to personally stir the batter for every batch?
Anyway, People magazine ran a story online today that if you dress up like Dolly Parton this Saturday, the 18th, Krispy Kreme will give you a free glazed doughnut. A wig or some other recognizable trait of Dolly will be enough. They’ll also hook you up if you sing part of one of her songs. I suggest you find a guy with a thick beard and do a duet called “Islands in The Krispy Kreme”.
