NE’s fave 4th July desert recipe. Choc ice cream is involved.

All Recipes dot Com released its list of “Most Popular 4^th of July Recipes For Each State”. For Nebraska, they say it’s S’mores Ice Cream Pie.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of such a thing in my decades of being a Nebraskan. In fact, I can’t remember a time that anyone I’ve known has made an ice cream pie instead of buying one from a grocery store.

That said, I reviewed the recipe and it’s easy enough that anyone could make it in about 10 minutes. It’s basically a graham cracker crust that you slap chocolate ice cream in and top with marshmallows that you toast with a little propane cooking torch. I bet you could do it with a lighter or grill starter if you wanted.
