The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has cited an 84-year-old woman in connection with a crash last May that killed a man. LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says it happened in front of Patricia Hieb’s home near SW 84th and West ‘A’ on May 29.
He says Hieb was pulling out of her driveway around 12:40 p.m. and after entering the road her car was struck by a southbound pickup driven by 49-year-old James Springer of Lincoln.
After the crash Springer’s pickup went into the ditch on the other side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Hieb was cited on Tuesday for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
