Hy-Vee employees will join with local first responders and Food Bank of Lincoln volunteers on Tuesday for the 7th annual Hams for the Holidays campaign.
Beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Southwood Lutheran Church (4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd), event workers will distribute 300 free hams to benefit families in need for the holiday season. The event continues until 5 p.m. or until all hams are distributed, whichever occurs first.
“This is just something that we do every year to give back to our community for those who are in need,” said Hy-Vee Communication Manager Nola Aigner Davis.
Hams for the Holidays is a collaboration Hormel Foods to combat food insecurity in communities served by Hy-Vee stores. Lincoln is one of 18 stops that Hy-Vee is making across its eight-state region delivering 5,000 total hams.
