If you’re flying somewhere for Christmas, there are going to be some changes on the flights. Southwest is going to require passengers to buckle up and prepare for landings around 10 minutes earlier than usual. It’s part of their new safety protocols to make sure people don’t get hurt from turbulence. I would expect other airlines to begin implementing similar rules.
It was just last May that severe turbulence killed a passenger and injured 30 others on a Singapore Airlines flight. That, and cases of injuries seem to be rising. So, expect more buckling and shuttin’ up during your holiday travels.
You know what the airlines need? They need to hire men that look the most like they could be a dad. Then, sit the guys in the front of each section. THEN……… hear me out………. During take-off and landings have him turn around and yell at everyone, “I told you to settle down! Don’t make me pull over and come back there!” Then when someone doesn’t put their tray in an upright position and shut off their phone, everyone else can get in their face and blame them for getting everyone in trouble. After the flight, all the other passengers would be allowed to give the bad person a noogie.
