Three men are facing drug and other charges after police arrested them just before 5:00 on Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a convenience store at 33rd and Holdrege. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says 50-year-old Thanh Ngo of Lincoln tried to enter a police cruiser after getting out of the vehicle of 65-year-old James Ross of Lincoln.
Thomas says he soon realized it was the wrong vehicle. She says investigators with the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force then saw Ngo going between the vehicles of Ross and 65-year-old Terry Bullard of Omaha about a block away.
“All three were contacted by officers, who smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car,” Thomas says. “During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located bags of crack cocaine and cash. It was also discovered that Ngo had swallowed some of the drugs when investigators approached him”.
All three men were arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail. Bullard was booked for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of money while violating a drug law. Ross was booked into jail for attempted possession of a controlled substance and possession of money while violating a drug law.
Ngo was booked for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
