The Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam in Big Bear Valley, California, captured the hatching of two bald eagle chicks, with a third egg still waiting to hatch. The first chick emerged late Monday night, followed by the second early Tuesday morning.
The eagle parents, Jackie and Shadow, have been together since 2018 and have been diligently caring for their eggs, taking turns to keep them warm. The Friends of Big Bear Valley, who manage the nest cam, noted that the third egg is 35 days old and may hatch soon.
The Eagle Nest Cam has previously documented Jackie and Shadow protecting their eggs from harsh weather conditions. Viewers can watch the live stream on the Friends of Big Bear Valley YouTube channel.
