I think I’m seeing one of those patterns when the universe is trying to tell you something. Last night, I watched the latest episode of The Righteous Gemstones which had a super smart, homicidal monkey on it. This morning, I found out that scientists are making monkey brains bigger.
Oh yes. Bio and genetics labs in Germany and Japan……. Remember the last time those two got together……. anyway, labs in those countries have introduced a human gene into a monkey embryo which made its little monkey brain bigger.
More specifically, it made the neocortex bigger. That’s the part of the brain responsible for higher brain functions, motor control, higher order thoughts………. All of which that could lead to conclusions like, “Why are humans in charge?” It also helps with making plans, like best traffic routes or, say, how to take over the world. Oh yeah, it also helps with language like, “Get that human!”
Not for nothing, but previously did this with mice and ferrets. Why ferrets? I don’t know. Maybe the ferrets can tell us.
By the way, Japan and Germany have been doing this for years now. So has China.
